It 's really cool. It was better to have instructions on how to attach the right handle.

Much better quality of materials, electronics, and workmanship than the Aries action trak power step (I have both). Although Amp Research says ""3 inches lower than standard, use for lifted Jeep"" this is just right height for my non lifted Jeep Rubicon. Bolt on installation but a few places directions are a little misleading, but took my time and reviewed entire directions so only had to back up on install once (front is actually center). Electrical is a tight custom fit, no extra room for routing, so must go most direct route. Door trigger wiring taps into factory wiring harness behind passenger kick panel, looked tough to get at as hard to see, but used phone camera to photo the area and then knew could just reach in to disconnect factory plugs to lower for access to connect door trigger wires. Great, no triggers and magnets in the door jams as Aries has.

I bought these because I did not like the idea of magnets needing to be blued to the door jam. Big mistake. After having to install these with absolutely no help from AMP-Research technical support (3 emails, no answer) I had to modify the install from their directions. The directions call for running 3 wires from under the chassis to the drain plug on the passengers floor mat by cutting a hole in the plug and running the wires under the carpet. Well, how many of us have a Wrangler that has bare carpet? Most of us have rubber floor mats. If installed per the instructions, not only would you see the wires running through the floor plug you will never be able to remove the floor mat again. The instructions also call for splicing wires on the BCM (Body Control Module) which are very hard to get to and I suspect will nullify any warranty concerning the door ajar warning.

The media could not be loaded. The XL steps are fantastic. My wife loves them on her 2019 Wrangler Unlimited. She is 5'2"" and has complained from day one about the factory steps being too tall. This fixed the issue, and it looks great. I am happy. We had them professionally installed. It was worth it to let someone who knew what they were doing put these on.
